Dyeing A Seat bag

Has anyone tried to dye a Cannondale seat bag?

I have a Cannondale seat dag (color blue) that I want to dye black, and wonder if anyone has done it before. It is not the nylon but rather cordura or canvas? Would the bag need to be soaked in the dye or could it be painted on?

In the UK you can buy a product called 'Dylon', you may find it on Ebay. You can use it in a washing machine although I've never tried it.

I don't know how well it would work with changing the color from blue to black, but here's a thread where people use Krylon Fusion paint on panniers and a seat bag.

I've got a red front and rear old trainstation Cannondale bag. I thought it was just a coincidence how their both the old logo and both red. Now mind you I don't have red bike but I still use them but I think I just gave myself an idea. lol

Cordura is nylon that has had air blown through it during the spinning process, so it should work. Rit also had a warning that fabrics that have a water repellent will not accept the dye, so that could be a problem with the bag. Also, from personal experience, true black is hard to achieve. I have an old Cannondale seat bag in dark blue and I like the color. I wish I had a matching handlebar bag.
