Dang, Colonel, is it not enough that you already own three Voyageurs?

Congratulations on your find! (In three years of regular checking on SFBay CL, not once have I spotted a Voyageur or Volare.)

The rear is currently spaced at 122mm and it was wasn't proving easy to cold set to 130mm. I decided to go leave it be and use an Ultra Six freewheel. Having found this freewheel (13-15-17-18-19-21) I'm glad this was the case.

I'm building this up with a lot of French flair including a TA double, TA handlebar bag, VO Randoneur front rack, Simplex Retrofriction DT shifters, etc. I've not yet decided on the tires and will probably replace the rims with VO Raids at some point. These Campy Omega 19s are very nice, but narrower than my preference.

Thanks to nlerner for the TA bottom bracket cups. With the new spindle this thing is super smooth.

Nice, super rare bike. It seems we have similar tastes in manufacturer and subsequent modifications and upgrades.

At last, some more classic SunTour components on a sweet build. Very nice so far Colonel, I like that TA crank and rings.

I got around to working on the Volare this weekend. I installed a VO Grand Cru headset and Randonneur rack. I put together a working set of MAFAC Competitions from two incomplete sets and ordered some new brass washers. I may install the original pad holders with some black compound Kool Stops later on; these Eagle IIs were all I had handy. An ENE Grand Compe stem, Nitto B132a bar and Suntour Superbe levers will make up the cockpit. For once, I think black wall tires will look better so I'm on the lookout for some nice 700x28 tires with black walls if anyone has recommendations.

I still have to figure out how I'm going to rig up a rear cable hanger. There is little space between the binder ears and I'd rather not clamp something to the seat post. Not even the Soma hanger will fit between the ears.

Thanks to rootboy for the cool tire savers!

Thanks, yeah, that's probably what I'll end up as it'll be easier to file thinner if need be.

Would a T.A. or MAFAC rear hanger work? I can't tell by the pictures.
It seems like a Nitto or Surly hanger could work with a little filing between the clamp ears?
Looking really good BTW!

Cheers,
Chris

Unfortunately, no. Both ears are recessed. I plan to buy a proper length bolt.
