Puget Pounder 12-01-11 10:26 PM

What is going on with that headtube..?

Alan Edwards 12-01-11 10:27 PM

Beat the cr8p out of him. Hang him from the $%$@@* I know, lets cut of his his hanger!!!!

chadwebster 12-01-11 10:29 PM

I think we should all email the fool and explain his drew syndrome to him...I know I am

Velognome 12-01-11 10:38 PM

I know it's bad to be a Drew but it's not so much different then when I cut the forks off my brother's coaster bike and pounded them onto the ends of the forks of my Stingray to make a chopper. ( freaken cool!) That was the thing to do in the 70's, atleast in Baltimore. If Al Gore would have invented the Internet and Craig made his list, would have advertised my services for $150....Hell ya! Chop all those gaspipe 10 speeds baby, if it aint 531 or Columbus I aint smokin it anyway.

I love vintage bikes, but for whatever reason I don't care one bit what anybody else does to them. I have all the bikes I will ever need (not saying I won't buy more), some clown a thousand miles away trying to make a buck doesn't bother me one bit. He can cut anything he wants off them.

My only real issue is the angle he sets the seats....

But don't you feel bad for all the future C&V'ers because now they'll have less bikes to be enjoyed by them. Stop being selfish! more original bikes are a good thing. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! (BTW send me that spacer kit)

I agree with Alan, for all the derailleur hangers and stuff he's removed i say we remove some of his "stuff" before we treat him like a witch in the olden days......bikes have feelings too

I am still a kid (sort of) so I am thinking of the children! There will be plenty of nice vintage bikes for all to enjoy for a long time. As somebody else mentioned, he's not hacking up an MX Leader or a Curly Hetchins (though I wish he would). He could cut up every single 1970's Sekai on the planet and I think the world would be fine.

And re. the spacers....unfortunately (for you--and you can blame Robbietunes) I will be installing them this weekend as I have an 8s Campy mini group on the way. I tried running Shimano on my commuter for a few weeks but just can't do it any longer.

Supply and demand. If there is a demand for Drewed (Druid? ;)) bikes, someone will fill the market. And at least the bike is getting ridden. I feel no angst over this at all. I have no say over what other people do with their stuff.

Get over yourselves, C&V.

JReade 12-02-11 08:38 AM

Think about it as supply and demand, your original, unmolested schwinn varsity is rarer by one, and now more valuable!

Whoever buys that bike will have Darwin for his copilot.

He's not chopping up anything special. He can drew all the Varsities, Azukis and Nishiki he wants. No arguments from me.

Doesn't matter. I'll never sell it; I'm saving it for the zombie apocalypse. When the cockroaches are dead, the Varsity will still be rollin'.

He had better not touch my Nishiki!

I don't have an issue with this guy flipping OTSes as ugly fixies, but he can do that without cutting stuff off. He's being stupid.

I would never spend money on any of them so let em get back out there however they can. a new lease is a new lease. Kinda like when my Grampa spiked his hair that one time. smile and thumbs up.
