Impossible 2 Locate?

Ok, so now that I'm back to bonding with my Motobecane, even tho it's gotten pretty cold here in Tokyo, I'm looking ahead to Spring-Summer. Well the WEINMANN rubber brake lever covers are looking a bit shabby. They're a light Tan color and of course I'd like to replace with new if they're around anywhere, but if I can't locate them, what's a guy supposed to do?

Where do I begin searching?

There are a couple of styles of Weinmann hoods- early and late. Which do you need? I have one or two sets of newer hoods tucked away and, like the OP, I know how hard they are becoming to find. Could we see a picture or two of what is needed. They do come up on Ebay, from time to time, but they are pricey.

Cane Creek makes replacement hoods. Google and you will find them at various prices.

Thanx for the response. Actually, I'm a new member and I have several photos of the bike but I don't know how to get them up on this forum. Suggestions?

Open a free account with Photobucket - Upload your photos there, and then copy the image link for your uploaded photos (beginning with "[img]...") and paste it here.
And welcome to C&V.

Bikes: '74 Alex Singer -'81 Mercian(sold) - '72 Motobecane GR(sold) - '73 Legnano(sold) - '6? Dawes Galaxy(sold) - '87 Masi GC(sold)

Are these what you are seeking?
They are available in white and gum from "Cycles Grand Bois" and in white only from "Compass Bicycles"
Forgot to add, I think Cycles Grand Bois is in Japan, since the price is listed in yen. Maybe lucky for you since you are in Tokyo. Welcome to the Forums!

Terrific info from all of you. Thanx for the recommendations on the hoods. I'll check them out and get back to you with my take.
