Re: stored sitting back on the rear rack: I mounted aero bars on my bifold, and with flat bar cables, cannot fold the bar forward and down, so needs to flip up to fold; This makes it stick down enough when folding to hit the ground. So when I fold it, I rotate the bike aft to sit on the rear rack, which extends aft to equal with the back of the tire, in order for pedaling clearance with panniers, but also turns out to help when folded.

Re: Le petit bi: Folders with very long seatposts like mine, out a lot of moment and bending stress into the top tube, sometimes cracking the frame there in fatigue over time; I've wondered about a vertical seat tube/post in order to minimize that moment. Only drawback would be that it obviates the feature on my bifold, with divergent seatpost and handlepost angles, that raising them up also increases the effective top tube length.

Also, Le petit bi has the crank further forward than my bifold, and thus comes closer to pedaling toe overlap with the front wheel like my 700c race bike, whereas my 20" bifold has tons of clearance, and le petit bi has 16" wheels.
