The Team Shaver Sport (ie the "good guys" in American Flyers) rode on red 1985 Specialized Allez's with Suntour Superbe. I wanted one SO bad. Very cool bikes.

Damper door suggests exhaust air. Looks like a trailer mounted vacuum before start-up.
Just preventative maintenance by the look of things~ or it could be a studio smoke removal system. I lean towards maintenance cleaning of exhaust, though.

The top tube height and saddle height are surprising because she is only 5' tall; Note the heels, but those don't come into play when riding, but do help with standover height. That doesn't look like 24" wheels, more like 26" english city bike.
