So I've been rewatching Fringe while eating lunch, and today I found my favourite TV bicycle shop. Fringe season 4 episode 12 they have to take shelter in the bicycle shop at Cyprus and Quimby in Westfield. They only show about a fifth of the shop name, but I do remember wondering what the bicycle in the front window was - anybody know (first shown 2012). Inside: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0172b46de9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...87d95eecce.jpg And the front window Anna Torv ----- John Noble ----- Joshua Jackson https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a57731509f.jpg I'm thinking it's a real 2012 bicycle shop that has a retro bike in the front window - I think that crank is cottered. Or were dork disks still popular in 2012 ? |
I don't think that is in Westfield MA. There is no Quimby or Cyprus and the bikes shops I know of are more modern. I liked that show but couldn't get by the almost comical "location" shots of the Boston area. It was not filmed in the Boston Area but was set there.
It reminded me of that line in Austin Powers Spy Who Shagged Me "That England looks in no way like Southern California". |

Which apparently does exist: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westfield,_Vermont Population 534 and it has about 2 streets and probably no bicycle shop. |

I just checked again and in the dialogue it says Westfield Vermont.

I have too much time on my hands. |

The bike shop scene was filmed in "Dann's Electronics" at 5657 176 St, Surrey, BC V3S 4C5, Canada. here's what it looked like in 2011.

I'm thinking it's cromovaleto yellow which can't be common, and it's got some weird decals on the DT and ST: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...31de9f4427.jpg |
