Gazelle Gold Line Racing Build DONE !!

Hello Guys,

I just finished the build on Friday night. Went for a 10 mile shake down ride on Saturday afternoon. All I can say is WOW, love the ride, The Athena 11 speed group performs great, positive up and down shifts. Quiet Drivetrain, very strong brakes. I'm so glad Jan sold me this Frame set.

Mike

Real nice bike Michael. Love that 11-speed Athena. Interesting that the cable adjusters are the same as my '92 Athena aero-brakes.

Mike,

Well done and a very stunning looking bike! I like the steel fork. Time to try clipless pedals!

11 speed Campy Athena has just the right mix of good looks, reasonable price, and solid performance.

Your Gazelle frameset is a great partner to this gruppo. It compliments it well, and has a modern steel appeal about it.

The fantastic wheelset is spot on, and I'd love to have it on any of my retro-mod rides.

Good to hear you like the ride as well.

This bicycle looks like a major mile eater and should give you many years of strong performance.

Enjoy and please continue to give feedback about the Athena gruppo.

I would have to ask Jan what year it is. If I had to make a guess, mid to late 90's.

The frame number is also stamped on the fork. So it's a matching frameset.

The Crank set is very tool intensive. The BB cups need a special tool, the crank arm needs 14mm allen for installation. It also has a very specific puller with adapters for removal. I think this is only for the 2011 Campagnolo alloy cranks.

The Blackburn Ti water bottle cage broke today. It looks as a cold weld is at fault.
