Those cranks look a lot like the Sakae's on my '84 Bridgestone

Has anyone used this group? I am afraid to pull the shift lever. The RD spring is real stiff. |
the compromised spinergy was the best thing to happen with this build. why? because plastic components need plastic spokes:

Hi Casey,
I have a black Cinelli Groove if you'd like it. About a 130 I'd wager. |

did those wheels come from a covered wagon?
they have joytech/novatech carbon shelled hubs, rigida dp18 rims, and 12/16 spokes front/rear http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...a/100_0990.jpg |
Man, I love these weird part-driven builds! subscribed!

i still need assistance with the derailleurs. the pring tension on both of them is very high. it takes a lot of effort to move them and then when you let go of the lever the derailleur moves back "home"

shifting seems fixed, or at least better. repeated use has things moving very smooth and as one would expect. the screw on the rear shifter does seem to work loose however. this is my first voyage into friction only downtubes. any advice to keep things tight? should i have any grease in these shifters and if so where? i also need a round two vote on the stem. do i use the cinelli groove stem or the kelly? if i get the kelly my wife has offered to try painting it to match the frame. |
lol, madness!

Quite frankly, this is one of the few cases where a full satin black paint job might be quite appropriate. -Kurt |

The Kelly. It doesn't have a weld mark, and it's close to the appearance of black plastic.

Go figure. -Kurt |
looks interesting so far. the question is how will all that plastic hold up when you ride it?

I like the line-up. Trying to found some Ofmega pedals I bet. Saw some on ebay not that long ago. I want to see where this goes. INteresting parts so far.

Excuse me; meant to reference the Groove, but began typing "Cinelli Alter" (that's when I fixed it by re-writing it to "Kelly").
Go figure. -Kurt

Wow - just saw the wheel pics - this is going to be one hell of a trippy build!
My vote is for the Groove stem - please don't even consider that Kelly; it just reminds me of that song on Sesame Street :) DD |
