craigslist bike trends

documented here: https://https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gnhixJm-YKU/TxiCBdbb3vI/AAAAAAAAH-8/DAGvu9OUEv8/s400/brettkuckfrankenfarthing.JPG

Also there is a link to research asking prices for bikes on craigslist:
https://priceonomics.com/bikes/

May be useful for some, along with ebay. Too bad there isn't a "completed sales" craiglist option!

That would be entertaining, especially if each one included the full series of texters, no-shows, tire kickers, low ballers, and outright weirdos leading up to the eventual sale

What I have bought on CL, I have paid what the owner asked for. Guess I tend to be "non-confrontational", but then again, I usually only go after what I see as a better than good price for me! Just bought a newish set of true 700s Mavic CXPs with Coda hubs and new Michelins on them for $10. Was NOT going to try dickering them down on THAT price!

My last CL buy, I wish I could of paid asking price. By the time I got there (within an hour of the listing), they were asking 250% more than the listed price, due to incoming emails and phone calls. I still paid it.

I have learned with CL, if looking for something, watch at LEAST hourly, HIT it fast, GET there fast WITH cash. It can be rather frustrating sometimes. With my wheel purchase, I got lucky, they listed Bicycle wheelset, with tires, one holds air $10. No size, NO brand...I emailed for more info. I got back..."actually have two sets of bike wheels, one with tires"...NOT the info I was after, but they did give me a phone #, so I called and got the numbers read to me off the tires and wheels! :-O Sometimes, sellers are clueless!

When I make a CL posting I always put pickup only/cash only in the listing. You would be amazed how many people try to pay witch check, don't have the correct amount of cash, ask me to drive the item to them, want to meet close to their house, etc. These people drive me nuts. Sometimes this is the reason why I sell my stuff on ebay so I don't have to deal with these morons.

A section with completed ales would be both nice and entertaining. It would be great to be able to get an idea of whath stuff actually sells for.

Just drove through the aftermath of a foot deep snow storm to pick up a "Sport 10" Apollo. I think that qualifies as pretty nuts. CL is hit and miss, the free section is the scourge of the western world, full of flakes and nuts, as well as those who don't concern themselves with bad "karma".
