Just for posterity's sake, the seat post pictured in post #13 is a re-branded Satri-Gallet, which was my favourite seat post of the late 1970s. I believe they were the first to provide saddle tilt and fore/aft adjustment using Allen bolts accessed from underneath the extension. At least, they were the first that I saw in this style.
