It really worked, and I didn't have to go nuclear! Believe RandyJawa when he says it takes a lot of sawing (i.e. hours and hours) and you'll swear you've cut through the post when you haven't. Tonight I am a happy man.

Actually there's little corrosive damage to the tube. I was quite surprised. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

So you had to make 2 cuts? I've never had to do this but (perhaps naively) imagined that a single cut and then squeezing with a clamp would release it. Anyway, I think you deserve a beer.
[edit] anyone ever try doing this with a long blade in a Sawzall?

Nice clean halves!
One day I'm going to get a big drill press I can bolt to the floor. I'm going to get a jig welded up that will let me position a seat tube exactly in line with and directly under the spindle, get me a 27.15mm drill, and charge people $25 a pop to drill out their stuck seatposts. I bet I could make at least beer money out of it.

Those posts are pretty thick at the top. There was no way to squeeze it hard enough to break free. It was quite satisfying to finally get it out.
