Does anyone know if the Centaur Powershift 10 speeds has the same "cheap feel" as the veloce?
I'd really like to decide on which 10 speed shifters to buy before Ribble's deal ends on the 23rd.
How are you liking your shifters Pastor?

I'm running 2010 Centaur (pre-Powershift !) I like the fit, and also have 2 sets of 2010 Carbon Centaur sitting in a drawer waiting for a bike. This particular right shifter is bit annoying because the shift lever sits a bit too far outboard and rattles against the brake lever over bumps. I will have to bend it in somehow.
I've heard Shinybikes still has 2010 shifters if you want to avoid Powershift.

Powershift is the 2011+ "dumbed down" version with limited shifting. Instead of multiple shifts up and down, I think it can shift only 1 up and 3 down (or is it the other way round?). That's why I bought extra Centaur 2010 shifters for future use before they became unavailable.

Ive only seen the 2010 on eBay for $250 before cables and shipping. Compared to $133 with cables and shipping for the powershift. Sigh lol I want the silver ultrashift centaur but not for an extra $170.

I think they have since gone back to the micro fronts. There was a period when the front had big throws like Shimanos. FWIW, my 2006 veloce ergos takes 2 ratchets to throw from small chainring to the big, which is what it takes Shimano. Except that you can choose to do it in 1 with Shimano. Never saw the big argument with trimming here. I like campy shifters for other reasons.

Hi Guys,
Came across this thread after about 6-7 pages. I think I need to buy new shifters for my 9 speed Campy set-up. I have Record shifters now but they might have reached their limit. What do you suggest as a place to purchase new ones for a 9 speed Campy set-up?
thanks
I just noticed these on the Ribble site, any good? Any other suggestions for 9 speed replacements?

That's what I would do first.
Contact Peter at Vecchio's.

I have no experience with Xenon.

Agreed with all of the above. It just feels really flimsy and I'm not crazy about that. Although I suppose my old Ultegra has the same type of plastic shifters, but they feel less flimsy since they can only move in one direction. I actually just ordered the Centaur ones from Ribble. They are having a 25% off sale and all shifters are really cheap. I almost went for the 2010 Chorus 10 speeds on there, but don't want to spend $200.
1-Hoods good.
2-Inner lever does not inspire, especially using fingertips in the drops.
3-Shifts are smooth, typical Campy (have a "feel") NOT flickable like Shimano...
4-Ridiculous price.
5-Wicked light.
I'm running "older" 10-sp Centar, "older" 10-sp Record Carbon, and new Veloce.
I think the bike with the Veloce is annoyed. It wants to go back to 8-sp Chorus.

This is a little different from the thread, but I'm running Dura Ace 6 speed STI levers with Campagnolo 1st Generation rear derailleur and front derailleur on a 6 speed Dura Ace Free Wheel and it works!

I love 'em. They feel great, work well, and look fantastic. I'd love to try a build using the 10/8 or 11/9 combo.
