That is one Dandy Frejus!

No no. I meant, what was that bag originally? I had started to make a pattern, to cut some leather I have so I could make a bag that would fit the oval VO rear rack. I still may do that project if I ever get around to the nine hundred other projects ahead of it. Then, I remembered I had something stashed away, picked up at an estate sale years ago, which might just fit. Added a couple of straps off an old Dooney Bourke ladies hand bag also picked up at a yard sale for the fine leather in it. Some real nice, heavy brass hardware on that bag too. The rear bag is a little funky looking, but it's just the right size for a small tool kit, spare tube and a granola bar or two.

First of all: fantastic Frejus! Don't see too many these days, and certainly not as superbly-preserved as this beauty. I'm partial to the color just like everyone else, too :)

Second, I got good and bad news from your post above: I can get one of those lovely racks from VO, but not the bag :( "Custom made", I see. Whatever, that rear-end setup is the perfect topper!

So pretty. On a less exciting note, but what bar tape is that? I never can find tan cloth tape.

One of the classiest bikes I've seen here yet.

Thanks D. Dude. Well, not custom made. Not yet. That bag is an old DOPP KIT I had laying around here collecting dust. Picked it up years ago. I'll bet it's from the 40. given its construction and style. Fit right on there !

Thanks. That not tan. That is actually pale pink, with a very light wash of orange shellac over it, followed by a light coat of clear.

What's so special about it? :innocent:

Brilliant, whatever it is. I will be stealing that.

That's bike porn if there ever was such a thing.

But how does it ride!? Does it give an unusual ride in any way? It's one of my holy grail bikes.

rootboy 02-28-12 07:21 AM

Unusual ride? Not that I'm aware of Noglider. Though I only have my Motobecane to compare it with. It's a lot heavier, of course, and to tell the truth I haven't got that many miles on it yet. Seems to handle fine.
