This bike has been my desktop photo at work for about a year now. People come into my office and immediately compliment my bike. Sometimes I correct them.

That seat cluster is so cool.

That is one fine bicycle. Dang. Dang.

Here is my Frejus:

Pretty slick, huh?

You're not kidding. RB has the most marvelous bikes and each is even more spectacular because of the color. His Frejus certainly is no exception. - Just beautiful!

((did you like my white one? :innocent:))

Dawes-man 02-26-12 01:44 AM

I didn't realise you had that, rootboy. Very pretty. Love the colours and a +1 :thumb: for the seat cluster.

Sorry, I reckon the white painted components ruin the look...

That white one sure is well camouflaged Auchen. ;)

Road Fan 02-26-12 06:37 AM

Thanks, Rootboy, much appreciated! That's not only the best Frejus I've seen, but one of the best vintage bikes I've seen!

rootboy 02-26-12 06:38 AM

Thanks everyone. Auchencrow, you're much too kind, thank you. I still haven't had the chance to build up the proper wheels for it. (and Spring is coming fast!) Since these pics were taken, I lowered that stem. Can anyone identify what my impromptu rear bag is made from? ;)

Yeah you are right Rootboy - the white on white was just too subtle for Dawes-man, et al, so I traded the Frejus for this spiffy little number:

(Seriously, where are the other Frejus owners here? I want to see more pictures!)

Nice trade! Is that a "Rossjus"?

Um... er... a hard one, this. Hmm... leather?

Don't know. But that photo with the bag is lit really nicely -- looks right out of a catalog!

Dawes-man 02-26-12 09:39 AM

I know! It's made from a Cornish pasty.

Yup. :thumb:
You really know your bikes, Rootboy... One of my best trades ever -(He even threw in an extra set of those brake levers.)

Hey - Sorry if I upstaged your Frejus here in your own thread!

rootboy 02-26-12 10:14 AM

No no. I meant, what was that bag originally? I had started to make a pattern, to cut some leather I have so I could make a bag that would fit the oval VO rear rack. I still may do that project if I ever get around to the nine hundred other projects ahead of it. Then, I remembered I had something stashed away, picked up at an estate sale years ago, which might just fit. Added a couple of straps off an old Dooney Bourke ladies hand bag also picked up at a yard sale for the fine leather in it. Some real nice, heavy brass hardware on that bag too. The rear bag is a little funky looking, but it's just the right size for a small tool kit, spare tube and a granola bar or two.
Thanks Whatwolf. I think I had the white balance setting not set correctly for the indoor shot so it came out kind of "warm", but I'm glad you like it. As for you, wise guy Dawes-Man, I'll make a Cornish Pasty out of you ;) BTW, what is a Cornish Pasty anyway ????

Well Eric, it may not be quite as pristine as my Rossjus, but it sure is plenty COOL! :thumb:
