Chrome plated frames and sandblasting? Bad idea?
I have been gathering the parts for my Raleigh International, it's time to paint this beast. I have started using some crappy paint remover (Jasco) wow does this stuff suck!
I was talking to my dad about it and he was saying that El pico' is the stuff to have, anybody have experience with El Pico'? So after that barely worked there was still paint on the frame but it is so thin that it will not scrape off with the scraper, cleaned the fork very well though. So now i have started sanding but it is hard to avoid the polished chrome on the lugs and rear tubing. My first idea was auto paint but then i got a good estimate on a powdercoating job for it.
Here is my main question, Sandblasting a fully chrome plated frame, i'm not doing this myself, but will the guys at the PC place be able to mask off or avoid that chrome on the head lugs and rear tubing? What will this do to the chrome that will be painted over? Is it a good idea to get it blasted or should i proceed to keep sanding?
Thanks!

The guys I use are very good at masking the chrome lugs, but I've seen some ham-handed powder coating from other places. I'd ask to see some examples before you pull the trigger.
