L'Eroica reminder

Registration opens in less than 3 hours, or midnight Italy time.

I'm going to try for a slot.

Grr. I've got a show in Antwerp that night.

I'll have to go for a 'tribute' ride that day on the Scheldeprijs cobbled sections instead!

Having had the good fortune to work in Montepulciano for two weeks last summer, I can happily confirm that Tuscany is heaven on earth. I'm sure the man upstairs created it on the Seventh Day.

He sure did. I had the pleasure of spending some time on an estate in the heart of the Gallo Nero wineries with the beautiful town of Siena simmering in the distance. Olive oil, wine and game from the land. Fresh herbs in the garden. Paradise on earth.

We had a wonderful drive down to Volterra in Tuscany from Bayern a few summers ago.

All sorts of great stops.

and here.

and many more.

We stayed at this Agriturismo outside Volterra.

We ended up riding our bikes from town to town over six days. Many of these roads are on the L' Eroica routes.

Can't wait to return in the summer of 2013.

I'll have to hold off on L' Eroica though until I retire.

It is almost impossible for me to get away at that time of the year.

So sorry, that would be Trempealeau County, Wisconsin. Mind you, what's "Heroic" in Tuscany and what's "Heroic" in Sconny are probably two different things.

T-county is definitely the place to be, run over to LaCrosse for Oktoberfest. I used to take leave to a cabin on the river right in Trempeleau. Good place to decompress. I suppose it's different without Heileman.

Yeah, now we have Surly Furious and Carr Valley cheese, and it's even better!!!

The coasts are fine but FlyoverLand is where it's at, baby. Still, awesome as it is, it's not Tuscany and it's not L'Eroica.

I think they haven't finished their morning espresso's yet plus, on facebook one of the organizers said they're already reaching the maximum, so there have been a lot of subscriptions tonight. I guess it takes some time to administrate it all. let's just hope this doesn't end in a PP dispute

To confirm, I tried to re-register, and it stopped me from doing it twcie, advising my name and e-mail are already in the system. I am taking that to mean I'm in.

If you want to confirm just try to register again, you should get the same response.

I can't check it, because registration is closed, they're fully booked. I'll send them an email if I haven't heard from them by tomorrow afternoon. ah well, if the registration fails I'll try to get a press card, I'm a fledgling journalist after all.
