Vitus 979 seat post

I have broken the seat post on my Vitus 979. It is 23mm. Can anyone help me find a replacement?

I was looking for one less than a 25 once and got no help. I'll keep an eye on this one too.

Here are some suggestions:

eBay
Recycled Cycles
Sellwood Cycle Repair
Harris Cyclery

These all specialized in used/hard to find parts. Good luck.

One other thing...are you certain that it's a 23mm you need? My 979 takes a 25mm, so I was just wondering. If you need a 25, I have a Shimano post that I'll give you. Let me know.

I will have it measured again and let you know. I appreciate the offer! Does your post use an expander bolt to lock it into the down tube?

25mm posts can still be had-- biketoolsetc.com, for one, sells them. Much smaller, like the various 24mm posts used in a variety of Peugeots, and you're in for a hard search.
