1981 Bianchi Campione Del Mondo
I initially posted that I bought an 83 Tipo Coursa as verified by Bianchi, but today I received the bike via fedex and upon unpacking I found the bike is a 1981 Campione Del Mondo with record all around, goes to show you even the experts can be wrong. Although I was really looking forward to the Tipo, this bike is right in the middle of the year range I was searching for a Bianchi. Below are a few pictures and a link with more if anyone is interested. The overall condition of the bike is much better than I expected and as soon as I get tubulars ordered and glued on I will be able to test ride.

Wow, that is absolutely stunning, and I'm not typically a Bianchi fan! Did you buy it on eBay? The seller deserves kudos for doing a superb packing job!

I did actually catch it on ebay and negotiated a decent deal below his BIN price and I requested to have it packaged by a bicycle shop. I am still amazed at it's condition. I have the right tretubi decal and NOS campy hoods ordered and have to order tubular tires. I think gum wall veloflex tires will look good on it.

Long have I been a Bianchi fan and that bicycle is absolutely lovely. I would ride it in a heart beat if it were my size. Nice going and enjoy that wonderful old bicycle.

Wow, that is beautiful. I'd most likely crash it as soon as I tried to ride it because I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of it.

i love celeste.... are you sure it's not a repaint. that condition of paint on a bike that old is pretty hard to come by. Every celeste binachi from that era that i see has crappy paint, it seems like there's always a little chipping here and there or bubbling under the paint and rust.

Nice bike. IMHO, a 1981 Campione Del Mpndo is better than a 1983 Tipo Corsa, especially in this condition.
