Anyone with Knowledge on what this hub is about?

This is a Schwinn hub. There is Schwinn script in the center.

Looks like the freewheel is part of the hub body sort of like a cassette hub is today.

Its 36 hole

Steel Chrome plated.

Was this a Track hub?

What year??

anyone with some knowledge?

Im lost

Is it not a track hub? Does the sprocket ratchet?

I believe the hub was also used on late 1930s through 1950s Schwinn Superiors. It is way more than a paper weight and will return many $$$ on your investment from the barn. It would be great if you had the matching front. But what you have is in great shape. Below is the link for the 1939-40 Catalog page.

The chrome plated steel hub was made for lightweight bike I guess to imitate the Paramount racing look but take the abuse. The superior came with low flange aluminum front and rear hubs but Paramount hubs could be substituted for a small additional charge. The steel hubs were seen in an ad to be advertised for heavyweight bikes too.

This hub could have a good home here... https://thecabe.com/vbulletin/showthr...winn-Paramount

He's an acquaintance of mine and i told him I'd be on the lookout. Its a '38ish Paramount non-track bike that has been amazingly restored short of some wacky french hubs.
