smontanaro is in Evanston, IL - add a star for me as well, please.

As for "room for it all", if the box had been big enough, I would have tossed in some handlebars as well... With a bigger box you'd probably have to add some serious reinforcing though...

DD, please add a star for me in Fresno, CA!

Glad to see some of my "crap" is already being put to use! :-)

Note to self: tape down the corners of self-adhesive labels! I've never seen a picture of the package as received and after seeing that I find it shocking that I've never had a package not make it...

If the map gets to me, I will definitely do so - and thanks for the info, 'cause I was going to PM for it this evening

I think we'll have everyone caught up on the BOC locations once I add jeirvine to the map when the box arrives on my doorstep.

Kudos to everyone - the box is really on the move now.

Anyone else up for a first or second go around? Let me know and I'll add you to the list

Box arrived today - and so did the map via sepcor (thanks, hairnet!).

However, I feel like crap and am going to bed early tonight. I have a photo of the box and I will only be taking a couple small items, so will take that pic tomorrow. I'll also mark the last couple of locations on the map and stick it in an envelope on top of the load.

My biggest problem is going to be how to put my crap in the box - it arrived filled to the brim. I don't want to toss anything because I'm certain there is stuff in there that some of you flippers can really use. But, man, it's going to be a tight squeeze

Yeah, it is quite the puzzle to fit everything in it at this point. Someone donated a bunch of lower-end stuff to their local co-op a while back to make room for fresh crap. I don't think that goes against the spirit of the game, does it?

DD, I'd love to be added to the BOC list for my first go around

Got a bunch of not-so-crappy-crap from my co-op that have been looking for a home!
This thread is exactly the reason I love the C&V forum so much. Well, that and all of the bit-chin' bikes.

Thanks in advance!

As promised, pics today - well, one pic, anyway. I didn't actually take anything out of the box except the tube of Chamois Butt'r - it had a small hole and I could just imagine the mess once the box reached RaleighSport

Here's what it looked like when I opened it:

I didn't want to take anything just for the sake of taking something - who knows, it might be something the next recipient needed desperately. I did toy with the idea of keeping the single-speed freewheel, but that would add another project to the mix. And I'd have to find a frame, wheels, 1/8" pitch chain and chainring...

Nah

However, I have a lot of crap to dump into this box. I will be using a brand-new box - this already has a tear starting - and hopefully fitting the stuff together like a Chinese puzzle so I don't have to jettison anything.

RaleighSport:
box will be on it's way - with map - by Friday afternoon!

I've been playing something pretty close to the vest, very few know of this project. But here's a tease.

And it's an awesome project at that - I know everyone who's taken part in the BOC odyssey will absolutely love it

I bet it spawns a whole new slew of "add me to the list!", too

RS is to be commended - loudly and proudly; you'll see why soon enough...

Came back from my run yesterday to see a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box leaning against my door. It was not our Bacon Onion Croutons. . . but for a minute there, I thought it could be because I wasn't expecting anything.

Turns out it was some samples from FRS. Yay ORANGE! Sick of Raspberry.

^ Hey dwellman, an occasional head fake can be a good thing. I'm OK with orange, but wifey is not fond of it for some reason. Go figure.

Can I ask, is there a weight limit for the box. I believe I will be putting more in then taking out. ... Well I checked the USPS site and said up to 70 pounds.

I personally do not have a problem with doing that, though some in the BOC game may not like the idea. One problem with doing that is that something that one person may deem as useless (a 3-speed hub, for instance), but another person may place a pretty high value on that item. Just sayin'...

We are all pretty tolerant, frequently know what people up the line from us might be looking for and will put in stuff that will be useful to people upstream. Others can weigh in with their opinion.

You could cut up a couple Schwinn bicycles and insert them in the box with that much weight being permitted! That's one hella deal.

I think the weight limit is up to 70lbs - it probably weighs close to 30lbs right now.

And you know, there won't be any way to put more in than you take out It's absolutely filled to the brim, every nook and cranny!

So, if anyone wants to dump off anything at a co-op or something, particularly if the stuff one is putting in is less-crappy than the stuff coming out, I'm all for it.

I get this - it was just too bad there was really nothing in the box I could use, so my photography was limited to the "teaser shot".

Hopefully RS will have better luck with his pickins
