Please help me identify a Paramount

I have been talking with a guy about his Paramount and am going out to see it. He is not sure of the year.

The serial # is 1J01450

And it is set up with Shimano 500EX.

Your expert analysis is most appreciated.

Thanks

Bikes: 1976 (ish) Viscount Aerospace Pro, 1977 Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2, 1992 Schwinn PDG Series 2, 1996 Rivendell Road Standard

If it's a PDG Series 2, which came with 500EX, then it would be 1992 (one year only). I can't imagine any of the other Paramount models had 500EX stock.

I've got one, nice bike but the bottom of the Paramount line, made in either Japan or Taiwan. They were all red, as far as I know.

I think the 1J makes it September 1991.

Thanks all. I decided to pass. I'm sure it's a nice bike, but with my present intent to reduce my holdings, it would take a Waterford to make me deviate from the path.

Long ride for a pig in the poke, but $150 isn't all that much.

We need you to "hunt this down" for the rest of us!

Seriously, $150 for just a Paramount frameset is worth the 2 miles. Certainly someone here on C&V would reward your effort.

This is not the RFC I know. You must be slipping.

On a related note, I found the 1992 catalog.
