CCRT season opener report!
First, an obligatory nyah nyah to Scottryder (Top's suggestion but we all agreed) who didn't make it! It was a great day for ride!
Three bikes, four people. Top506 (Mark) on his Gitane, my co-worker Eric on his Peugeot, and Sharon and myself on our Peugeot tandem. Yes, there were three French bikes! Only two were blue though.
We rode from Dennis to Wellfleet and over to the Atlantic Ocean, back to the CCRT/OCRT rotary. Due to time pressure Top had pulled ahead, but Eric and Sharon and I went east on the rotary toward Eric's house. He turned off toward home, and Sharon and I went back to the car in Dennis. 54.39 miles, max speed 24.1mph (not bad considering that it wasn't due to a downhill!).
It was great day! Great to meet Top506, and to ride with Eric again.
Now some proof that it happened.
At the start:
Our first stop in Nickerson State Forest:
A few pics from the Chocolate Sparrow, a favorite stop in Orleans. Some bike talk, and more bike talk:
Overlooking the Atlantic from the Wellfleet dunes:
An obligatory squeeze:

Wish I could have come! CC is just a bit too far for a one day drive and a 50+ mile ride. Looking forward to the Minute Man Ride if you can pull it off.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
Great to meet Jim and Sharon, and looking forward to the next ride. And Eric needs to log on here, as his 'Pew-Quot' needs our collective wisdom.

After you rode off we discussed his bike while we were riding. He was saying he needed a lower gear and I offered to find him a bigger freewheel. He said he was thinking of going to see a friend who did bike fittings, then getting a new bike. I need to convince him his bike is just fine! He also said when he was younger he used to bike everywhere, but isn't so easy any more. I'm figuring he just needs to do more of it!
