Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

Nice job. Took me a while to figure out what it was, after seeing the Schwinn badge that is.

Are those 11-speed Campy shifter working a 7 or 8-speed cogset through a pre-'97 D-A derailer?

Bingo, except its 10sp working 8 sp. I'll have a set of V2 Chorus shifters by the end of the week.
Components are:

Ultegra Tri color hubs with XT skewers, Cinelli Del Mundo bars with 3ttt stem, Campy/Tange Falcon headset (heh..) Veloce brifters, Record cranks (2005), DA 74xx derailleurs, Suntour Superbe Pro brakes, Thomson post, Rolls saddle.

A true chimera.

Lewis,

Wonderful build! How do you like the ride? My '83 has been off the road for a year. I need to do something about this unfortunate neglect. It is a great riding bike.

Bikes: Are several.

Very nice - good to see that frameset put to use, and prettied up nicely to boot! If I'd won it, it would probably still be hanging on the hooks in the bathroom or stashed under my bed...

I've been on it a total of 15 minutes. With the new pedals (Speedplay), shorter TT, upright seat tube, etc, I spent the whole time with allen wrenches adjusting the fit.
Two things do jump out: 1) it makes the Nishiki seem like a barge in the handling department and 2) it feels like an SL bike.
I'll probably be riding the next few rides with wrenches in my pocket.

Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and spare parts....and for putting up with me obsessing about how the heck this bike came to be.
Yes, that IS a Superior head badge.

Bravo! Nice to see that "Superior" get painted and built as it deserves.

Are you planning to decal it up, or leave it as-is?

I'll trade you a Paramount badge for a red '83 Superior headbadge if you come across one.

What's really scary is that I'm already looking to change out parts. I was gobsmacked when I compared the Thomson post and the Speedplays with the Le CattlePrade and Looks that were on my Nishiki and I had saved ~3/4 of a pound. Not that that means much to a guy that weighs 225.However, I need a shorter stem, maybe a BB...there's a Bontrager cyclometer in the mail and a set of Chorus Brifters not far behind...Welcome to C&V. Sorry about your wallet.
