benotto modelo 3500 slx

Hi

I live in the UK and just bought one of these from Holland

I know a few of you on here have experience of these frames especially mrrabbit

Is there any way I can tell if mine is Italian or Mexican?

SLX frames typically use 27.2mm posts.

Nice looking bike!

You might want to move the FD down slightly so there is about a penny gap between the cage and the large front sprocket... should tighten up the front shifting. https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-...ur-adjustments

I'm not happy with you taking this bike away from us... It must have been one of the best looking bikes in the Netherlands

I got the frame and forks from Holland then spent a few months collecting the parts to build it up.

Its my first road build

Only been out on it a couple of times so far. I need to work out why my wrists hurt when riding. The bar tape doesn't offer much cushioning so I might change that. I also thought about repositioning the brakes a little

Great looking Benotto. Is that a normal place for Columbus decal?

Yes, Benotto used that location for a while.

Nice bike! I recently saw a crankset that I nearly bought, but they were only 170 length, & I really kinda need at least 175. I'm pretty sure they were stamped Benotto, & they looked a lot like Campagnolo Record.
