Strada Update...
She does not want to give up easily...not sure she wants to be restored...but...she's gonna be.
Ended up having to drill/mill the BB out...mounted her up on the table and milled out as much as we could, as close to the threads as we could.
Still took a couple hours of careful hammer and punch work and even a little hacksawing.
She's back in the OA bath until I get home and crack the aircraft stripper open tonight.
Please use grease on your BB cups...
TIA

Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC
Agree with the grease on the BB cups, I've been seeing a few BB's for sale lately with missing threads towards the end of the threaded section, and the seller saying that the threads fused on to the BB shell and was left behind when he removed the BB from the bike. wouldn't have believed it if they did not post pictures of it.

Bikes: enough bikes to qualify for Hoarders......
On the aircraft stripper I had really good results using a pressure washer to remove the paint after the stripper softened it. One application removed 98% of the paint leaving only thin primer behind. way easier than scrapers and brushes! Messy though

I was wondering how it would go on this steel frame. Last time I stripped a frame with AS was my Sampson Z7 Ti and the powder lifted right off with good water pressure after about 30-45min application of the AS.
Fingers crossed.
Fingers crossed.
