Aaron, sorry about your recent accident! The left-turn-into-motorcyclist/bicyclist car accident is a common one. It's driver negligence, plain and simple. I agree that strobing front lighting helps to get attention. But in most urban environments where there is a lot of background lighting to cause you to 'blend' into it, the drivers can still miss that you're there.

I promote one steady and one flashing headlamp for commuting and night rides. I use the same flashlight mounts as Chris. They are UV stabilized and have lasted me over a year of use. Also have the Two-Fish style mount, but like the former more. I run CREE flashlights to see, and get about 1 hr of usable light. The flasher is usually a multi-LED model with a wide beam.

Hey Aaron... I like the self-contained and USB rechargeable lights. I own a few...my favorite so far is the Cygolite Expilion 350 (now 410).

The rear, I've been using Cygollite Hotshots, Superflashes, or PDW Radbots.
