Yes, Stronglight is a BF member. He has a lot of really choice bikes. His Motobecane Le Champion is one of my favorites.

Usually the metal fenders hold their shape better and fit up well if enough clearance exists.
These Paramounts were of the old school, so good clearances for a "road racing" bike.

Good points, but there are many bikes with similar fenders that just loose the racy edge. This one doesn't. Maybe it's the tight clearances, it must have cost some hours to get this set up straight! Well , maybe it's just matter of time before bob shows up and teaches his secrets :)

Use Honjos. They really hold their line, so to speak....

I think the fact that the fenders are highly polished alloy and contrast so nicely with that paint job, lends to the racy look. Plus only one , horizontal, stay per fender. Really nice.

stronglights Bikes are often quoted here as some of the best around. What I like is he has a asthetic great eye while keeping his bikes vintage, but he's also not afraid to make tasteful upgrades on bikes that get ridden. His Moto Grand Record was one of my inspirations for a long time. It helps that his size frame is around the sweet spot for really good looking builds proportionally, unlike my gangly 63cm-ish fleet.

Notice how far down the front fender goes in the back. Did Schwinn offer these fender optional or are they always after market?

Honjo and VO fenders provide that much coverage. I'm not aware of others. I'd wager the fenders on Stronglight's yellow Paramount are either of those brands. Berthoud fenders may also be that long, but they're only available in stainless or carbon so I've never used them.

You will find eyelets and ample clearance on any P10-9, P15-9, and most pre-1971 P13-9's, in addition to the '81-83 Superiors. Any of these should work for you.

Mind you, there are some oddball pre-1971 P13-9's without eyelets, but those are generally special-orders. B802 is an example - it pre-dates the P13-9 revision; yet, it is sans-eyelets:

Scott, I've never seen that Paramount of yours before. What year is it? I see pre-1967 pinstriping and the 1973-75 decal set, so I'm not sure what to estimate.

Kurt, I've had it for a few years now, I'm surprised you haven't seen it before now, I always look for an excuse to post photos! I'd love to post it to the Registry,what do you need besides serial number?
