Just bought:

cheap enough at $119., free shipping. I have no idea what it is, but looks 50s/60s with some upgrades:

this has the potential to be a great score, or a colossal fail.

With those Campy DOs. long fork spears, and lug windows, I'll bet it turns out to be a good deal whatever it is.

I can't afford the old, expensive crap, though I love it just the same!

Well, what I see: lugs; no one's used those in a long, long time. Campagnolo dropouts, middle range or above to use those. And if its 50s, certainly upper-end because something lesser in the 50s they would've just used flat stamped ones.

Reinforcements on the fork blades; extra work, probably wouldn't bother if its a lesser frame.

Braze-ons certainly added. First common braze-ons to Italian frames just prior to the mid-70s were the bottom bracket cables guides, without those, doubtful there would be any at all.

Yeah, could be nothing but certainly worth the 119. to me.

I'm thinking it could be a Garlatti, only place I remember those lugs:

I was going to say Garlatti, or some version of Atala, perhaps.

Bikes: they change so much I'm tired of updating this

Those are my all time favorite frames, a mysterious clean slate to make it anyway I want. Very cool find.

Well, though a nice looking frame, it feels like its made from gaspipe. But, my son will be home from college this summer, and he wanted to build himself another bike, so I'll give it to him!

I'm going with "great score". As for the fail, it's only 119.00 and that doesnt look to be colossal to me.

My son has always wanted something he can spray can. Cheap enough investment for the fun and education it will give him, if I can get him to do it all himself.

I'd don't think its a score or a fail, just a frame.
