BB for C-Record Crank
#2
The SR BB is assymetrical/offset to the DS. I don't know if the C-R is. The taper is the same (old Campi) for both. So worst case your chainline is pushed out a couple of mm.

C Record crank is low profile which is why it needs a shorter spindle. Without taking spindle symmetry into account if a C Record crank is mounted on a NR/SR spindle the chainline will be outboard too much.

Not to hijack the thread but I'm facing the same problem on a Colnago I'm putting together. Does anyone make a cartridge type replacement unit that would substitute for C Record axle?

Looks like the Record Pista 111 mm cartridge BB will work. Velo-Mine is selling a few of these (as are others): "This will also work on the old C-Record road cranks along with the late 80s-early 90s Chorus & Croce D' Aune."

Bikes: i don't have a bike. a few frames, forks and some parts. that's all
*all C-record era cranks: C-record, Chorus, Croce D'Aune will most likely work seamlessly with modern campy 111mm cartridge BBs w symmetrical spindle, as far as i know. i did a bit of research and got a Chorus crankset matched to a Veloce BB with no problem.
*double cranks, i meant.

BB for C-Record Crank
I was told on good authority (Peter Chisolm of Vecchio's Bicicletteria) that the AC-H 111mm cartridge BB has the correct dimensions, and I did use one to install a C-Record. And if the AC-H is good, the currently available Veloce 111mm units should work, too. The Veloce was about $40 on EBay, when I looked last summer.

I'm using a Record Pista Cart. BB with my C-record era Chorus cranks right now. No problems. Just remember the Pista BBs are not sealed against the elements.
