For those going to Cirque this weekend
Please post pictures here.
|
You can count on it! :D
|
Bump.
|
Well, I am out of touch. Have fun.
|
Nothing?
|
more over on the CR, of course.

Hey fellas, how about a hearty welcome to a new member, VintageDude. He is presently at Cirque where I am certain that he is absorbing vast quantities of vintage and KOF knowledge. When he comes down from Mt. Olympus I am confident he will share some of his experiences with us.

I was there for the entire weekend but didn't take too many pictures. :( However, my 1950 Norman Rapide won the best Non-American bicycle in the 1950-1959 category. :)

That's great! Congrats! From what I've gathered, it's a tough crowd there, too, so that says something!

Here's some that I found. http://biciak.blogspot.com/2012/06/2...e-bicycle.html

Not having seen the comp, I'll still say you deserve it. :) |

A fine show! Thanks to Wayne & MJ, as well as all the people who showed up with bikes, parts, presentations and stories! |

Really, having spent some time with that bike, I would have been puzzled if it hadn't. Still, I'm really glad to hear it. It gives the whole event some credibility! |

Thanks southpaw. Yes, the folks at Cirque are indeed a pretty tough crowd but, at the same time, the Norman is like nothing else of the era. Winning best in category was really was a function of (1) the bike itself and (2) the work that rhm did putting the bike back to its original state. I really just took the bike there and presented it to the folks. With all the framebuilders, former racers and vintage bike aficionados there, they have a good sense of what constitutes a good bike and the Norman is exceptional in nearly every way.
I'm certainly willing to concede the victory, but I did come in a close second! This was further aided by the fact that I forgot to put the entry number tag for voting on my bike until nearly noon, and that I had to take the bike and leave at 1. Still, for the category, I fully concede. That Norman is fabulous! :thumb: That said, I sure wish I'd brought my '63 Hetchins. Harvey won by a landslide with his '65 Paramount, 'cause there was no other bike in that category! Other categories were overflowing, tho. It was a great weekend with fabulous people and stunningly beautiful bikes. |

Hetchins always get a lot of attention at shows so it probably would have taken the category. I'd really love to see that bike one day. :) There were a ton of bicycles once you got past the late 60's. Definitely a great time and tons of great bikes. |

I wish I had taken time to take pictures for the forum! I did get a picture of the young man that took my Ruby Red home.
