I've read the threads, and have another early 80s mystery bike- one (poorly) stored for the past 20-odd years.
Seems as though there are enough threads on the same thing already, so..

Silver, with chrome front fork ends. 63 cm (25") from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post. Bianchi saddle, shimano altus derailers, 10 speed (front crank reads "custom") bottom of the crank housing has : 3 [ 8 ] [ 144 or 3 C 8 ]C144 (although the last "4" is poorly stamped) I'd think the character between the 3 and 8 is a capital C, if the one following the 8 wasn't the same thing, but backwards.. Wheel base measures at 107cm. The bike rides ok- but I'm trying to figure out how much effort to put into it. I suspect it's more towards the bottom end of the line, or has been "modified" by having the bits "downgraded". If so, I can continue the trend. I just don't want to offend a purist sometime in the future! Decals: Bianchi; edoardo bianchi; CR-MO; Piaggio. If there's interest, I can send a picture. Thanks!

By all means post pics, but with the long wheelbase and Altus components it sounds like a touring bike with new derailers. It's probably made with slightly heavier guage tubing, as well. Does the frame have braze-ons and eyelets for racks and fenders?

I'd certainly be interested in seeing the pics.

Took me a while- had to clean the bike up a bit ( still has a ways to go), then the camera died...
This is the bike I'm trying to figure out- Let me know if I need to focus in a bit on something to
help make the ID! And, I apologize, but I don't know enough about it to know if it has braze-on eyelets, etc.
It took me a couple of days to figure out how little I know about bikes!

T-Mar, can you help me.

Mine has no decals and has since been repainted. The original color looks to be a metallic blue. It has the B stamp on top of the forks and the "Bianchi" stamp on the top of the seat stays.

The only number I could find was on the bottom of the bottom bracket, and reads;

KS13573

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is a red Nuovo Allora from the same period. I think it is the same size, as well.

I have a mystery Bianchi frame with an identity crisis. The stamping on the bottom bracket is L.6 and 25516. It has Columbus and Made in Italy decals on the seat tube. There is also a 1986-87 world championship (Colorado Springs) decal on the down tube next to the head tube. The decal that should give me the model name on the top tube is missing. The frame is pink and the Bianchi logos on the seat and down tubes are reddish.

What do I have on my hands here?

I recently found a great shape Bianchi.Owner said it was an 84 but I searched the catalog and found nothing.It is a Sport Sx , Serial # JS766780. can anyone help me find out if it is a made in Italy or made in Japan.

Celeste and Exage sounds like an '88, I did not see this post earlier.

82? was this repainted? the decals don't look right for '82

original paint , might have had repop decals ? i do not own it anymore, but the decals looked original, it's been awhile since i had it, i think it might have even been a 84? these are great riding machines

Yes that is an '88. they were great bikes and that was the first year japanes/tiawainese bikes were painted Celeste.

I need a bit of help here. i recently bought a Celeste Bianchi that i was told was a Super Leggera that was custom order with different components than was was standard. hmmm. Serial number is N6 3641 found on the BB. has 'made in italy' sticker. ALL the components are Shimano 105s, wheels are FIR made in italy. Tubing has grey columbus sticker that says 'cromor'

thinking i have been had, it was in the heat of the moment while blinded by Celeste.

Hi Mark Welcome to the forums. Nice looking Bianchi, all the components are 105? cranks and hubs too? yor Kanuck bikes are bit different than ours but they were merging to be the same about '89/90ish. (I think Bianchi USA took over distrubution rights to Canada in '90)

Anyway more importantly for the 2 years that decal style was used in the US '88/89 the Super Legera would have had a "Mint Celeste" paint which was a lighter shade than this bike has. Also the '88 bikes were a SL frame and the '89 were SLX. a CroMor frame like this would have been a Campione de Italia level bike here in the US market. I am not sure how they were specced in Canada but here they a mix of Modolo/Ofmega/Suntour parts.

I have one, but have no idea what year it is.
It's a gray Bianchi with pale grey Bianchi decals. It has Made in Italy and Foderi Forcella Special Columbus stickers. Campagnolo front and rear derailleur. Modolo breaks Miche wheels and Bianchi crankset. The frame is a 54cm. It has a B stamped on both sides, under the saddle (you know, at the joint of the seat tube... Sorry for my bad english) I live in Canada.
The serial is just over the front Bianchi decal. It's 2C 06971.
I hope it will help you in your attemps to break the serial code and if you have time to give me any information you could have on this bike, it would be much apreciated.
If you need pictures of the bike, I'll try to take a few.

Here's some pictures of my new bike. Paid it 80$, delivered. Probably not the deal of the century, but still, it seems in very good condition. I just have to clean it and change the handlebar tapes and I'm good to go for a ride.
Weird thing is that the shifters are different!?! Cans someone tell me what Campagnolo derailleurs are those? Victory? Triomphe? C-Record... I'm not sure...
