Bikes: See my sig...

My girls are off on a sleep over and I have a breakfast date with my best friend which will be followed by a day of working in my shop and teaching a class on winter cycling on what could be a very sunny and hot afternoon...

On this day I will remember my fathers as I had two of them that have now been gone for over 20 years and had an extra father in my grandfather who stepped in when his son was not capable of being a good father.

Taking my oldest in an hour to ref at a regional soccer tourney at the National Sports Center here in Blaine.

He's reffing four games this morning, which will give me a three and half hour bike ride!

Flat as a pancake up there and no wind today.

A huge bonus.

....and when I come home I get to build our new BBQ grill. Lucky me.

Happy Dad's day to all.

Hubby gets in a single track ride with a friend (our youngest's Godfather), and if they survive it (!), a barbecue. My dad is in the hospital far away, and I hope to see him once he reaches a care level that allows me to visit. Love you, Dad!

My parents have been at my house this week for a family get together yesterday, so I actually get to see my dad on father's day briefly before they go home to MA.
I had been planning to take the kids to the grand opening of a new MTB trail today, but my morning coffee/internet session on the deck got interrupted by a thunderstorm just now. Hopefully it blows over quickly, but I think we just got half an inch of rain in 15 minutes.
Maybe Prometheus will be the backup plan...

Bikes: A few

Thank You, I'm going to spend it with my family just hanging out. I ride everyday so one day off the saddle is no biggie. Here's my entry to the club....

Yep, Happy Fathers day to everyone with a little one. We celebrated yesterday by going to the zoo. Afterwards we went to Fatheads, my favorite artery clogging brewery / restaurant.

I had the oatmeal stout. It was really good.

Yeah, all I get is a stinking 2 week vacation in Italy! Leaving today at 4, meeting my wife and son in Venice.

Hope to get by the Madona de Ghishallo to see Eddy's bike he gave to the Pope.

Thanks Sloar. He's 7 1/2 on the Richter scale now and going on his 6th bike. They don't last long with destucto guy ! Thankfully I have a scrapyard nearby that's loaded with kids bikes and an owner that lets me pic for pennies to nothing.

OBTW, growing up in a Marine Corps family I thank you too( Semper Fi )

hehe, If you don't, I will off to a month in umbria (logging some miles on nasty climbs in preparation for l'Eroica, for sure) and I have to drive a car over to there, so I will be stopping over at the Lago. I want to do the climb badly and earn the madonna badge for my bike. Catholic roots never leave you.

OK that's funny, I call mine destructo boy as well . He's 12 now and outweighs his mom, so you have an idea of what's coming... His present to me was dislocating one of my fingers yesterday.
He does the same thing with bikes but now he finds his own beaters & tests them to destruction.
