My anniversary gift
I have been trying to convince my wife that I need a rainy day bike. Well today she told me she bought me an older cannondale. The only thing she knew about it was its my size and it was only $200. When I went to pick it up I was very surprised to find a very nice metallic green sr600 with profile design carbon forks. Cinelli bars and stem and full campy nuovo record components. Mavic g 40 wheels with record hubs. 7 speed freewheel . Campy aero seatpost and a leather concor settezero supercorsa saddle. New bar wrap and tires. I thinks for 200 bucks she found a hell of a deal. Pics soon.

You're getting into my territory though...I tried for so long to build/buy a rain bike but kept ending up with something too nice to ride in the rain so I would add it to the keeper fleet and try again.

I hope you pay as much attention to her hobbies as she pays to yours
That's quite the story. She not only knew what to look for, she's a wheeler-dealer, too!
Congrats on your anniversary - and finding a keeper like that (the wife, of course!).

But what a sweet find your wife made for you!
Any idea what year SR it might be? And would this be the "Sport Road," as opposed to the "Silk Road" 600 that's equipped with a headshok suspension fork?

Thanks, yes I do have a great wife. She doesn't share my cycling passion but she hears enough to know what I like. It doesn't have the head shock. Not sure what year it is. I weighed it last night and it's 19lbs without pedals.i almost hate to use it for a bad weather bike. I will post pics soon. Thanks again

Hey, I got an anniversary bike as a gift this year too....from my hubby!
i love it when the person you are with understands your passions so well, even if they don't share in them. My hubby has no interest in biking. He doesn't even own 1! I have 3!
Sounds like a nice score, pics please!

Congrats & Happy Anniversary! You know this may turn out to be trouble in the end. Next time you find a bike you really like, she may just tell you, "I don't know if you should bother with that bike on CL, even if it is your size. Remember that Cannondale with full Campy I found for $200? Well, maybe you should keep looking for a better deal..."
