Seeing as how my Miyata is pretty well in hand I've been looking for a real derelict of a bike to wrench on. I found it this weekend. It's an '85 League Fuji.

Here's after some initial cleaning /removing the decal remnants and new front tire:

Everything is original except that rear derailer. I think I'll go with cyclone mII.

Seat post is still stuck in place, unfortunately. My first experience with this. I'll get it eventually!

After removing brakes, levers for cleaning and getting stem unstuck. Also, goodbye ugly, useless reflectors. Looking a little better:




So it's 'sonic blue'. It was also available on 1956 cadiallacs and stratocasters. I should be able to get some touch up paint mixed for me at napa for a reasonable price.

I absolutely love mine! Great bike with moderate geometry. A great intermediate bike!
