Future Classic & Vintage came in the post for me last week - NOS Cannondale CAAD9 frameset from 2010, size 58.
I was the 2nd bidder & got it for $605 + free shipping. It is new in the box, never built up. The last of the “Made in USA” Cannondale frames. I have seen the welds on the Taiwanese sourced, later CAAD aluminum frames and they don’t look nearly as nice.
I was seriously bummed when Cannondale USA shut down domestic manufacturing of these frames about 10 years ago. I have a CAAD3 R1000 that has really great chunky stiff tubes with gorgeous paint.
This (size)58 CAAD9 frameset is gloss white with red decals. I assume they are clear coated over. I didn’t need this frame, but I wanted it so there it is. Right now the USA Cannondales come up randomly for sale, often times really cheap.

Headset cable hanger to move the front brake cable loop off my Univega's stem with built in hanger. The albatross bar should look neater with the lower horizontal road bike stem.

Nice, I was watching that one. Enjoy. I have an '09 in the same size that's an absolute blast. It's a bit bent after kissing an SUV this summer, so time to replace. What's the plan for the build?

Well the 58 has a 57.5 top tube and For the last 10+ years I have switched to more compact 56 frames with 55 top tubes and adapted to that sizing with 12 or 13 cm stems.
So this bike will be set up with no more than an 11 cm stem. I know it is a minor point but important nonetheless.
As as for the build, I have no idea. I love waiting until inspiration comes to me. I mean I have a beautiful Wittson Illuminati titanium disc frameset from Lithuania that has all its parts in boxes just sitting there in my oldest daughter’s vacant bedroom.
Once I unbox this Cannondale I’m wanting to inspect the BB30 bottom bracket. I think I’m going to use an Acros (German) or Chris King BB30 bottom bracket with 24mm adapter for a Shimano crank. I may use my 7803 triple crank since it is from the correct era and build it up as a triple climbing bike with Dura Ace 7800/7803 shift levers, 7803 front derailleur and 7800 GS rear derailleur. For hubs I’ve got tons of options so that is yet to be determined but NOS 7900’s might be a good bet. The wild card here is my set of Campagnolo Bora Ultra carbon tubular wheels (with Shimano 11 speed freehub body) that I purchased on clearance last year. I’m not sure what maximum frame clearances for wider tires there are on the CAAD9 frame, but the Bora wheel version I got is the skinnier one that maxes out for about 25mm tubulars.
I love matching similar & unique seatposts and stems so it will be fun looking for something like an Eriksen titanium seatpost with a matching titanium stem (mounted horizontal, no upward rise needed thanks to the taller head tube of the size 58 frame - more classic aesthetics...)
My go to saddle is the Sella Italia Team Turbomatic in white with a red stripe which will definitely match the frame. Hopefully the over abundance of white and red won’t be over the top. If so, I suppose all the white and red can be toned down with something like a silver gray saddle, bar tape and cable housing.
BTW; what are your plans for the 2 Uniglide cogs that came in the post for you?

I have been searching for the long reach version of this Universal side pull caliper, for my Rabeneick. It came in the mail, today, but I will not get a chance to see it until the end of April, 2019...
It will be replacing the short reach version that I had to make some v-shims for...

Very nice. Mine has the same 57.5 top tube, getting to the right stem length certainly opened it up. The 7800 feels right at home, though I've been wondering about a Chorus or Record build. Mine has an English BB vs your BB30 -- I'm not sure if that might indicate a difference in tire clearance for whatever reason, but on 17.5 mm internal width clincher rims 25 mm marked Contis measure out to 28.5-29 mm with comfortable clearance all around. I'd push it to 30 mm actual without worry on this one. ...Wittson looks like a blast, Ti is toward or at the top of the short list. It'd be interesting to hear a comparison with the CAAD9 eventually.
The Uniglide will eventually go on the Woodrup. It's currently 13-30 x 50/28, it'd be nice to eventually build a 12-26 or similar cassette for it to swap out here and there.
Still need tape after dialing the fit.

Sugino 94/58 crank. Will make it possible to have a compact cassette and still tour hilly country for this old man.

I picked this up on the street last night. It was lying in the recycling garbage left on the curb for the city to pick up. It's very heavy. I might take the crank and pedals. I will give away the frame, fork, and headset.

OK does my picture show up now? It looks gray, but it's white. It's a 58cm. If anyone in my area wants it, it's yours.

This dang thing. I ordered a Vuelta SE Plus 130mm 50T chainring to replace my Suntour 52T. Amazon sent a 110mm 56T.
I wish I had the legs to churn a 56T. Nice anodized black over silver aluminum. Wrong size, won't look right on my Centurion Ironman.
Trying to decide whether to sell/swap it locally or return it to the vendor. Only paid $12.88.

Yup. It weighs a ton without wheels or handlebars. I carried it home on the subway, and it took some work.

Pair of old Weinmann brake levers, with "good" condition white Carlton hoods:
$15 with shipping. Picked up a '75-ish Gran Sport (or was it Grand Sports?...), that light blue color with white panel, on eBay earlier this year. One of the hoods is in rough shape, so I grabbed these. The levers won't do me much good, since they don't have releases, and the Weinmann center-pulls on the bike don't either. But just the hoods are worth the price of admission.
