That old black (Paramount) magic! My '59 Tourist 3-speed.
I've had this one for about 18 months now, but have only been riding it regularly and hard for the past 2-3 months. I bought it and let it sit for a while with a lot of other projects, but late the past Spring I took her apart, cleaned and lubed everything ( had to replace some bearings), trued the wheels and slapped on some Panaracers and new brake pads, rechromed the handlebars and chain guard and did some minor touch up on the original paint. Have been putting in about 50 miles per week since and I have to say I flat out LOVE this bike!

I can see exactly why you love that bike! Beautiful. So how did you come to have this bike? Was it a CL or eBay purchase?

That is beautiful.
I know less about Paramounts than most members here. How close is that to the original set-up? I have never seen one with upright bars and a SA three speed.

Oh man, something of a grail bike for me. Pointy fenders are my faves and chrome ones are impossible to come by. SA wingnuts ain't common either.

Mine are 27"
I got the "build sheet" from Richard Schwinn and it states "custom decals," which I assume refers to the 1958 decals on a 1959 frame and maybe the name " B R E T" on the top tube in the same colors. But who knows?
The frame was built with "custom geometry" and is 23.5"

I posted pics of it right as I was considering buying it about 20 months ago (maybe more). It wasn't an ebay or Craigslist deal--I bought it from someone who found it and knew it was something I had been wanting for years. It wasn't dirt cheap, but it was fairly priced for how clean it was . . .
