Have bike, will travel
I'm going to look at, and consider buying, a Raleigh Competition this morning. The bike has the following componients: Mavic Model E G 40 - 27" wheels, Avocet touring leather seat, Shimano 600 headset and derailer, Super Maxy Sugino aluminum crank, Shimano 105 aluminum pedals, Exage Sport brakes.
The bike is a light blue color with gray headtube and trim.
Is anything on this bike stock?

The bike I'm looking at must be earlier, it has 27 inch wheels. When did the Raleigh Competition switch over to 700c?
Edit: I'm finding blue & silver Competitions displayed in the 1973 and in the 1975 catalog.
^ I would agree. In the '70s they would have been sew-ups, which were 700c.
Just looked at the '83 US catalog, and they do show 27x1 tires... hmmm

I decided to pass on this bike. It must have been rebuilt, from the frame up, using parts from another bike. I'm looking for a mostly original almost-collectible bike.

Might still be worth it, depending on the year and the condition (and price), if you're up for a project.
