My new to me 1984 Trek 660. It's a work in progress.
As I got it a few weeks ago.

Bad picture of it's current progress.

I have a build thread for it also
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ded?highlight=
It doesn't even measure up to the class of bikes in here but it's mine :-)

WOW lots of fabulous bike here!!
Is this too maroon? '80 RIGI aquired as frame (no fork) only for a Turbo saddle

Does this have a enough red to qualify for the thread? '87ish Cornelo

My only real red bike but alas it does have a black fork. '90 Proto

Here is another that may be too dark/maroonish looking '90s something Vento 603

The RIGI and the Proto are currently set up different than pictured but I am having trouble with my thumb drive so I can't acces the updated pics.

This is something else!! I love that wishbone stay treatment. would you post a few more pics showing how the brake is mounted? Is it me or does it mount different that on a standard bridge? Would a normal sidepull mount like that too?
OH those are CdA Deltas that is why the mounting looks different.

I have two Big Reds, both seen here before. The '82 Mikkelsen Road Special was a prize-winner at last year's Philly Bike Expo Concours (Aaron, feel free to correct nomenclature), ubermensch and panel judge member Steven Maasland calling it: "a quintessential American frame." Note that the best/prettiest/rarest bikes last year were owned by the judges and out of competition, otherwise the Mikkelsen may have gotten props but no prize. This was my first/only/likely-last Concours, none of my steeds are ever period-correct. Case in point, aggressively so, is the '71 Raleigh Pro. It's still a bit of a mystery to me, supposedly an unused team back-up frame with serial number F6146 and "VANDAT" stamped on the bb shell. I kinda deliberately pushed the boundaries of component goulash, using as little period-/race-correct componentry as possible, but stopping short of an indexed drivetrain and cassette hubs. Doesn't win any style points but is fun to ride. I've always loved the look of the shot-in seatstay treatments on these frames.
