Serotta Color?
I am looking at an older Serotta frameset and have a question about color. Presently it is a blue but wonder if other colors were offered? How would I find ut? Also how can I match the color? The auto paint supplier needs a flat piece the size of a business card for matching and that does not exsit on a bike frame!
Any thought?
Thanks!

thepaceline.net has a bunch of catalogs. You can check there if you want to go original. Note that they no longer will sell replacement decals though.

been there done that.
(clipped from another post)
I wanted my bike PUCH "Profigrun"
in the post came a small 30 year old dried up touchup container,
forum member"Chrome" from https://www.bikeboard.at sent me his little touchup bottle of the original color, with this I will get a correct paint color.
Armed with the touch up can I visited "Spies Hecker" Finland Distributor and they let me thumb through the color tiles - I viewed over 10,000 colors in 2 hours and got a hit very close to correct,
it was a VW color,
the distributor looked at the 2 and said with a bit of yellow it will be almost perfect.
they printed me the color code and I went to my painter.(who mixes the Spies Heckler color himself from the book) I mentioned to him what the distributor said.
He painted it one evening and played with the color and got it very very close.
he did a fantastic job and the paint job cost me 200.
you can view the bike and build here

here is the original touchup stick- I remember having these on my schwinn in the 70's
original paint was a candy translucent, with a silver base.
the new paint is a mettalic with a clear over it- a very close match and really smooth.
you can see how translucent the paint is on the test panel

Serottas came in all kinds of colors. A very popular one (at least in the 80s) was a mini-metallic claret red. I've seen a lot of those.

A forum member (cuda2K?) has repainted his using an automotive (Mazda? Matador Red) color that's a fair match.
