bottom bracket advice

If a Schwinn Super Sport bottom bracket shell measures 65mm, and I'm using a Truvativ BB adapter, what length BB spindle might I need?

I'm planning on double front cranks. One SS will have a Shimano 600, and the other one will be Sun Tour.

(I am renovating two fillet-brazed early '70's Super Sport frames...)

Tony,

In my experience it is impossible to know what size cartridge BB is needed for the BB adapters. It's a matter of trail and error. Guess at a size, install the BB and crankset and see how it fits. Keep repeating until you hit the sweet spot.

There are just too many variables. Each crankset requires a different size. The adapter adds to the mystery. The SS's frame geometry creates a third variable.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful.
