Need help for chain sizing.
Hi all,
I need your help for sizing the chain on my bike. The RD is nuovo record on a 5 speed freewheel. It look too tight when I use the largest chainring, largest cog plus 2 links method. The chainring are 51-47. Can I or should I add another 2 links. I need your advices.
Thanks

If the tension pulley (the lower one) on the rear derailleur can still be pulled forward with a light touch in the big-big combo, you've got enough links. That said, you're welcome to add links if you want, but stop short of letting the tension pulley swing higher than the jockey pulley when in the small-small combo.
