Great looking machine. If I can ever sell the two bikes on ebay I may have to seriously look for a nice highend '70 classic.

Ah. Beauty, Frank. Some of the paint and the chrome look new, but with that worn top tube, just the right amount of patina and good, honest use showing. The vintage tire savers are a nice touch. Gorgeous. Classic.

Tying the tag end of the brake cable to the straddles with copper wire is another nice touch.

That's beautiful. I have a similar one in blue (1973). It's one of my nicest riding bikes!

Do I spy a reynolds decal? I always thought those were built with "faulk" (spelling?) tubing

Nice bicycle and a guy like me is certain to appreciate it. I really like the Legnano that resides in my diminishing collection. And, for what it is worth, I am pretty sure that I have a correct Legnano pantographed steering stem for your bike. I would have to look but I am sure I saw one in one of my vintage stems boxes just the other day. It is a match to this one that is fitted to my Legnano.

Great looking Legnano, the red Legnanos are my favorite color next to their signature transparent green. Legnanos used Falck, Reynolds, Columbus and 'gas pipe' tubing thru the years. Asking prices have really jumped recently for Legnanos. Is that rear derailleur original to your Legnano? If so then your Legnano is a 1972 or 73. Any date code on the cranks?

Thanks a bunch, with the exception of a different handlebar, stem and saddle the bike is the way I found it. The pillar was way stuck. I just polished the damage out of the post and washed it up. I would love to finish it out with a Legnano stem, Legnano wheels and TTT handlebars so I will get in touch with you guys.

I went to a goodwill store to get one of those giant coffee pots (no hot water at the shop) for washing dishes after lunch. I asked about old bikes and another customer overheard my request. The bike was out in the woods and he didn't have a car so I gave him a lift home and bought the bike for $100. I may bring him some nice moose steaks also.

After I made the deal and had the bike in the van the kid stopped me and asked "what the bike is worth" I explained that I ride them and it won't be for sale. I followed with a big bike smile and one word, "priceless".

I got some 'savers from Rootboy but this bike came with them already so the originals would be the first choice. I am making a lot of the parts on the Limongi (one of the long term projects in the shop) and the some of those pieces will be made of materials that match the 'savers from Rootboy.

The cranks show no date markings (and only slight wear) the derailleur is p72 as are the hubs and it came with a nice Hinalult saddle and some shimano aero levers. I had to scrounge for good used housing (one piece) as the ones on the bike were mangled and had been cut too short for use. I replaced all the control wires.
