Clever Leather
i am really liking the look of leather on an old bike. not just saddles and handlebar wrap, but the really one off looking custom pieces. the small bags, cup/ bottle holders, and some of the frame protectors look nicely done when slit for cable clamps or bottle mounts etc. i know there are those bikes that are completely wrapped in leather, those are nice too. but i was wondering what kind of clever leather some C&Vers have or have pics of. thanks

Ask Rootboy to post some pictures of what he has done (you could search for his posts, but it would be cooler to see here along with what else shows up)

Happy to oblige, Raleigh Comp. Here's a few pics of some saddle bags I've made. First one I kept for myself. The others for various members here on the forum. Plan on doing a few more, I've got lots of leather, but got waylaid by a recent bike project. Winter's coming. Plenty of time to stitch leather. Thanks.

As the proud owner of the last saddlebag in rootboy's second post, I have to chime in here with a pic of it attached to my Colnago:

Scott's muy talented and of course he does these by hand, one at a time. Exclusive and oozing with quality - I am a huge fan!

Rootboy is clearly the master of Leather, but some of us play with Leather a bit...
I wanted to make hoods for my Daughters Junior as it just looks fitting.
the levers are very small for small hands,
I was completly satisfied with the results.

I saw some other guy who had posted some of his stuff in one of rootboy's threads (I think)
He did toe cage covers and other things of the like. Too bad my memory is failing me, maybe someone can pull in my slack...
Please excuse the vagueness

Puch,
I would love to read more detail about those hoods. Leather thickness, steps to make them, sewing,......
can you please tell us more about how you went about it ??
