Basement find Colnago!

I mentioned in another thread that my buddy found a Colnago while doing a basement cleanout, so he asked me over to his place and I showed him (via the webz) what they were worth, but he doesn't really care for road bikes and so asked me to make him an offer we could both live with, I did, he agreed, and I will be picking it up this afternoon. Yes, it'll be a flipper as I have what I want in the way of road bikes. (I prefer Schwinns ) Pics will be posted then.

Nice score but who in the right mind prefers a schwinn over a colnago.

I almost had an anurism while reading that.

Me. I like Schwinn road bikes, just do. A Colnago is a super cool bike but its just not what I want. There was a time when I fell into the "Italian bikes are the best" B.S., but then I realized that like most, I was just following the crowd. Don't get me wrong if anyone loves Italian bikes 'cause they just do more power to 'em! Just think a bit before knocking the bikes I like is all. Anyways pics will be posted after 3 P.M.

I'd rather have one friend "like that" than 100,000,000 fake asses any day. ;0)

This bike has some real potential, especially considering those nice panto'd Campy bits. With a good clean-up, some tires, some polishing it should look really nice.

So are you going to ride it just to see if you might like it?

I showed this to my coworker and he just smiled, he rides a ciocc. I told him you preferred schwinn over this and his response was just like I prefer Chevy over ford. Will you be doing a full restoration?

Love the color.

She'll clean right up for the most part.

Any pitting on the fork?

Any dents or dings?

Looks like a fun project waiting to happen.

Thanks much! Ill give her the once over, get her cleaned up, and sell her as she sits. Not that I don't think its a sext beast! Just that my love belongs to another.

Too bad there's rust all over it, that makes it pretty worthless. The good news is, I can dispose of it for you, for a modest fee. In case it's not obvious, I'm joking. That looks really nice, but it's red, so I don't want it.

Nice find, congrats. The rust always looks worse in photos than in real life. Remember, a brass brush and PB Blaster are your friends.

Thanks man. =0) Actually the love of my life is my 1965 Schwinn Super Sport. If I'm not mistaken in 1965 it was just below the Paramount. But not ABSOLUTLY SURE about that. Doesn't really matter to me though, to me its as sweet as any Italian! <3 for rust I prefer an over night soak in white vinegar, works miracles and is a lot cheaper! ;0)

Pretty sure there are no dents dings or pitting, I'll find out when I start the clean up. I'm sure who ever gets it will have a great time with her!
