I knew you had to be telling a lie when you said you painted it! I know you aren't the kind of guy to repaint old bikes, but instead appreciate them as they are with some cleaning and polishing. I'm glad you decided to keep her as a rider. Heck, I might even need to come up and pay a visit to see this and some of the other stuff you've been showing on the forum lately. Didn't you get a De Rosa or Colnago recently?

Probably originally 571 26ers.

Might be a 559 wheel. We've had a handful of 50s Schwinns in the shop. I'm not sure which had original wheels, though. One had 559 front and 571 in back. Was driving those guys nuts trying to get tires for that bike.

I want to see that thing all Rando'd up, VO style, with full-on 650b's, racks, mudguards and the works. You know you wanna.

Bah. Get an extra long seat post (in Chromoly if you're heavy) and some upright bars. One of my favorite bikes.
Yeah, it takes the 559s but I've had 590s and 597s on mine, just to see how it rode and 27s on my other one. I'd be pretty tempted to get creative. I think the only holdup would be the lack of brake drillings on the fender bridge and fork. |
|
Yeah. i got a set of those you know...
On the other hand, a good old coaster brake with orange rims and cream tires would look really swell. |
Ahh, a good ol Lemon shaped bike.
