That's really cool. I like it

That is one cool frame I rearly like the bow and arrow type springer forks. This is one bike that should be restored the paint looks good enough that it only needs minor restore. Schwinn knew how to paint which was something the revials back in the day never seemed to figure out.

Very cool - but make a copy or two of that key if you can. Lose it and you'll be in deep doo-doo :)

Yum! Too bad bikes like these never show up in my neighborhood... Too much beach, not enough cruisers:)

Needs a set of fixy wheels.

Looks heavy and slow to me

Some brightly colored aerospokes?!

jolly_ross 12-09-12 02:25 AM

Very nice. Keep the original paint!

I've learned the hard way DD!

I keep a "train bike" at my in law's home in southern Bayern.

Three summers ago, I lost the key after locking the bike up at a train station in Munich.

The in laws were not amused when the "Polizei" stopped me as I was attempting to carry the bicycle onto the storage compartment on the train to get back to Emmerting.

They had to come and verify that I was ok.

Didn't have my passport along on the day trip. :(

Yeah, but a deliciously smooth heavy and slow!

^^^^That!^^^^

Schwinn cantilever frames are perfect. Like a classic Coke bottle, they magically got all the curves & proportions right. Most others are just off a little. This is a bike that deserves a full restoration.

Agree.

Wow, what a great bike, you don't see one of those everyday...

Love it! Whatever you do, do NOT repaint it. That is a badass color scheme and it has just the right amount of patina. Any idea what year it is?

+1 Couldn't have said it better myself. :)

devinfan 12-09-12 12:20 PM

I don't normally go in for that type of bike, but one is awesome. What a fantastic paint job. In this case I suspect it actually looks better than when it was new.

To late, I painted it pink with green racing stripes. ;0) Just kidding, I did have it on C-List though, but I'm going to remove it from "the list" and keep it as a rider. =0)

I knew you had to be telling a lie when you said you painted it! I know you aren't the kind of guy to repaint old bikes, but instead appreciate them as they are with some cleaning and polishing. I'm glad you decided to keep her as a rider. Heck, I might even need to come up and pay a visit to see this and some of the other stuff you've been showing on the forum lately. Didn't you get a De Rosa or Colnago recently?

YoKev 12-09-12 02:03 PM

cool! what size wheel does it take?

sailorbenjamin 12-09-12 03:55 PM

700x23.
