It's an early-70's Peugeot UO-8. It wasn't an expensive bike. Lots of stuff on it are non-original, such as the rear derailleur, pedals, brake levers, rear brake caliper, rear cable yoke, rear brake cable hanger, seat binder bolt, and probably the rear wheel. The fork is also a replacement, and obviously, it is not the original paint job, either. The model was very common, and you can find numerous pictures of this model on the web.
Welcome to C&V. We can help fix your bike, but we can't help with your nascent addiction. |
Welcome vwluc! You can never, ever post too many pictures in this forum. We love pictures.

non-fixie is right. It's good that you took so many pictures, and you did a pretty good job shooting them.

Thanks so much for the info!

vwluc - You'll find that there are a lot of folks here who regard the U08 pretty highly - even though (as Tom pointed out) it was not an expensive bike.
Here's a thread where many of us got to show off our own U08's and variants thereof. |
Expensive no, wonderful ride quality yes.
|
I wouldn't say wonderful, but I would say better than other bikes in its price range. The geometry also made it adaptable for many purposes. It was also moderately lightweight for its price range.

Somebody did some serious stuff on that UO8. For example, painted it but did the insides of the Aztec lugs the alternate color. It appears to have been highly regarded by that owner.
Nice bike. It can be lightened. But with or without lightening it should ride nicely. |
