Funky Bartape ID ??

Hello all.

I'm looking for funky bar tape to replace my old neon/yellow tape (it's tearing !)

I just saw this wonderful tape on the 'bay... alas I cannot find anything like it ! (click image to enlarge)

it's so gorgeous and would fit my bike perfectly !!!!

That's why they make chocolate and vanilla. The splashy/patterny '80s looking tapes usually don't get much love around these parts. The one pictured looks pretty faded and soiled. Best bet for finding something similar is going to be Ebay I think, unless one of the current multi colored tapes would work. Places like Nashbar sell them, but they're going to look pretty generic compared to the pattern you show above.

yeah the cinelli "splash" lineup looks kinda generic and ugly. there is a great NOS stock of ambrosio tape with funny patterns and polka dots, but I don't like the vinyl-like glossy material it's made of..

I guess i could find late 80es garments at salvation army and make my own bar tape out of it ! cause the tape above really looks like a funky neo-hawaiian shirt !

That kind of looks like "Off the front" tape. Nice looking group too bad the cranks are wrong.

I agree with bianchigirll, off the front was my first thought. Profile also made tape kinda like this, but haven't seen any lately.

A third look at the brakes reveals them to be CdA, you can tell by the design of the part that holds the cover on. The RD is certanily some model of C-Rec. CdA had some funky operating rod on it.
