Vintage Head Badges
I have quite a few "vintage" head badges from France that I'd like to start selling, but wonder where I might do some research as to what I should ask in price. Can any of you guide me to a resource that would help?

Hundreds are for sale on ebay at any one time (over 1000 right now), just look at completed auctions (sellers can ask any crazy price, but that does not mean they get it).

I've seen some relatively obscure head badges go for peanuts at swap meets (like three and five bucks) - no where near the asking prices of some eBay listings - so I'm not sure there is a definitive resource at the moment. There's a good pictorial resource over on Flickr so maybe some of the avid collectors might be contacted and cajoled for advice?

The thing to do is find the guy who paid $10 for bike that is complete but for the badge, and sell him the badge for $100.

ill throw my headbadge into the mix. cand decide if i should try to repaint the headbadge with a paintpen or a small brush with some acrylic paint (or is there a certain paint i should use instead).
or do i just remount it in the vintage state on my newly painted frame: (frame can be seen here: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-sekine!/page2 )

Maybe we should set up a stickie for trading head badges? Thoughts, anyone?

I found two Stella badges. I just took pictures and can email them to you (PM me with your address). Once you see them you can tell me what they are worth to you. I saw one online for about 5 Euros (badge plus shipping). I really don't know how much they are worth (less than $10 my guess) and I'm not thinking they are worth a mint. Like to get them into good hands for some restorations maybe.

Hi
I was looking through you list of head badges and I saw you have a AUMON badge. I am currently restoring a AUMON tricycle circa 1909 model and the head badge enamelling is in poor condition, I have located a business that does enamel repairs but I am not sure if all the colours are present.
Could you describe the colours to me or post a photograph.
Thanks

Copake Auction does appraisals. They might be able to give you some idea of the value of your collection.

Just saw some of the responses and sorry to not have replied. I sold one badge to a gentleman in Japan and I'm sure he appreciated that, but the effort was pretty big to get it out (of course Japan made that more difficult) and multiply that by 100+ badges. I then showed them to my local shop owner who was building my Velo Orange and we struck a very worthwhile deal for both of us. So, he has them and plans to create a cool display with them (along with bikes he also sells old vinyl records - cool shop).
